Three Fires Council
Required Training Policy 2016
Three Fires Council has adopted a policy of requiring all Direct Contact Leaders to be trained for their respective leadership positions. The council is committed to providing the highest quality program possible to the youth it serves. Having trained adult leaders is critical to fulfilling that commitment. Every youth deserves a trained leader.
Cub Scout Direct Contact Leaders must be trained for their respective positions by December 31, 2016, in order to be registered for their positions in 2017. Cub Scout Leaders who assume Direct Contact positions after December 31, 2016 have 3 months to complete the training necessary for their positions.
Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, Venturing, and Sea Scout Direct Contact Leaders must be trained for their respective positions by December 31, 2017, in order to be registered for their positions in 2018. Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, Venturing, and Sea Scout leaders who assume Direct Contact positions after December 31, 2017 have 12 months to complete the training necessary for their positions.
All online trainings can be accessed through My.Scouting.org. Classroom trainings are offered at both the district and council levels. For a list of upcoming classroom trainings, check the Three Fires Council website at www.threefirescouncil.org.
