"Scouting's Journey to Excellence" is the BSA's new council performance recognition program designed to encourage and reward success and measure the performance of our units, districts, and councils. It is replacing the Centennial Quality Awards Program as a means of encouraging excellence in providing a quality program at all levels of the BSA.

The Journey to Excellence program hopes to accomplish to assist you in the following tasks for you as leaders in your unit.

  • Serve as a framwork for your units planning.
  • Provide an assessment for evaluating your unit.
  • Set specific guidlines and standards of what the BSA considers good performance.
  • Recognize your unit for good performance.

Journy to Excellence will give you a level of standard that will let you assess your units preformance in the eight key national measures of sucess.

Journey to Excellence is not just a process to measure good practices that are simply repeated year over year. Instead, the goal is continuouse improvement over many years.
