Roundtable is a monthly meeting open to all leaders in the Kishwuakee District. It meets throughout the year expect during the months of June and July. The meetings take place at the DeKalb First United Methodist Church. Click Here for a map. The meeting starts at 7:30 PM and is over by 9:00 PM. If at all possible leaders should come in uniform. Every unit should have representation at this meeting every month. It does not have to be the same people every month. In fact we encourage that different volunteers and parents from units come to different Roundtable meetings that are specifically geared to their interests and volunteer role. See the below "Roundtable Schedule" to find the upcoming topics.
So what should you expect from Roundtable?
It is one one of the best sources for Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader education and information. This is the one time every month when you have the top leaders of the district gathered in one place, and they are all waiting to inform you and help you serve your unit. Here are just some of the things you will gain out of your Roundtable experience:
- You will learn about upcoming district and council events. Along with select unit events happening around the district.
- You will receive updates from various District Committees on program, training, fundraising and recruitment.
- Formally and informally discuss topics related to providing the best possible program for the Scouts in your unit.
- Network with other leaders and provide a system of support and encouragement.
