Youth Leadership Scholarship

Purpose
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints incorporates the program of the Boy Scouts of America into it’s youth ministry to help young men learn and live the Christian values of service and leadership. In the spirit of furthering that mission, the Peterson Scholarship will provide financial assistance for Scouts to attend national level BSA youth leadership training.

Background
In 2013 The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints celebrated 100 years as the first national Chartering Organization partner for the Boy Scouts of America. To mark this centennial milestone the Three Fires Council was one of the first in the country to issue a limited-edition set of commemorative patches. The money raised from the patch sale provides the funding for the scholarships.
