Important! 2025 Popcorn Sale

Three Fires Council Popcorn Sale is vital to unit fundraising efforts, and it is vital to council revenue efforts. Over 70% of sales from popcorn support local Scouting at the unit and council level. Our Council works with each unit to ensure you have the training and support to have a successful sale and fund your Ideal Year of Scouting!

With other fundraisers the unit is on its own to ensure quality, safe products and often bears extra costs to make the customers happy. With other fundraisers the council receives no support and less goes back to support local Scouting. The Popcorn Sale is endorsed by the Three Fires Council, and we will ensure quality products and make sure the customer is happy. The Popcorn Sale also provides funding for the Council and helps us keep costs, and council fees lower.

We have a special offer this year for any unit that has not previously sold popcorn or at least did not sell last year. We want you to “Try Before You Buy.” Give the Popcorn sale a try this year and help your unit and the Council. If you would like to ‘Try Before You Buy” this year we will give your unit 3 cases of popcorn to sell, and you keep all the profits. We will ask that you meet certain conditions that we know will help you be successful. We are confident when you sell the first three cases and keep the profits your unit will want to continue selling and fund all your exciting programs.

We need to get every unit registered for the Fall Popcorn Sale. If you have already signed up, Thank you! If not, we want to get every unit signed up as soon as possible and have the correct unit kernel contact information so you don’t miss any important information about the 2025 Popcorn Sale.

June Membership Chips

Welcome to your June monthly Membership newsletter article about how the Invitation and Application Manager can supplement your unit’s recruitment efforts. Think of addressing your Leads and Online Applications in a timely manner as the first step to Welcoming your new Scouts and their families to your unit. Use of this Invitation and Application Manager tool can support your recruitment efforts.

Invitation and Application Managers can be found in “My.scouting” and will support your unit’s online recruitment efforts. Use
of these Online Tools all starts with a “current & active” BeAScout Pin that is in “Unit” mode. Does your BeAScout Pin contain
all your unit’s current contact information and meeting location? A good rule of thumb is to review your Pin’s set-up every 3
months and especially after completing your unit renewal. Why is this important? This will tell a new parent the basic information when they do an online search looking for a unit in their neighborhood. An active BeAScout Pin will allow the “Manager” system to generate your unit’s “QR Code” that can be used on your recruitment materials. A couple of good examples would be adding this QR Code to your recruitment flyer and / or your Peer-to-Peer recruitment cards. This QR code will help a parent locate your unit, where they will have two different options. They can either “Request More Information”, which generates a “Lead” in Invitation Manager, or they can “Apply Now” which will generate an Application in Application Manager.

All Leads should be answered within 72 hours. A Lead not answered and closed due to inactivity is a missed opportunity and tells that family that your unit is not interested in their child joining your unit. Remember, you cannot make a second first impression. If your unit has a New Member Coordinator, this adult can monitor and address these Leads, which can help that family to join your unit. Application Manager can also be used to Transfer an existing Scout online to a different unit; an example would be an AOL Scout crossing over to a Troop.
